Names are very important. When I meet a new person, I always ask,
“what is your name?” There are popular names in every language. The
word ‘popular’ means that many people like the same names.
My friend Bud speaks English. His sister’s name is Dakota.
Their names mean ‘friend’ in English. The name Amit in Hebrew and
the name Anisa in Arabic also mean friend. Amit can be a name for
girls or boys. Anisa is a name for girls.
My neighbor’s name is Carla. She speaks Spanish. Her name means
‘strong’. The name Carla is a popular name in Spanish. It is a name
for girls.
When you meet a new person, ask them: What does your name
mean? Some people know the answer, and some people do not. Do
you know what your name means?
