Memory Game (game #26)
●
- Play the game in pairs.
- Two pupils mix up the cards they have cut out and place them face down
in rows on the desk.
- Pupils take turns flipping over two cards and describing the pictures:
a brown bear, etc.
- When a pupil finds a match, s/he keeps the pair of pictures and takes
another turn.
- If s/he does not find a match, it is the other pupil's turn.

What's in the Bag? (game #14)
- Use one set of animal flashcards to play the game. Put the flashcards in
a bag.
- Take out a flashcard from the bag and ask: What is it?
- Repeat several times.
- Have a pupil come to the front of the class and pull out a flashcard from
the bag. The class asks: What is it? S/He answers: It is a ______ .
- Hand out letter cards to different pupils. When one pupil chooses a picture
and says the name of the animal, the pupil with the letter stands up, holds
the letter in the air and says the name of the letter.

Animals and Actions
- Tell pupils to choose one of their own animal cards.
- Tell pupils: If you are a brown bear, stand up and turn around.
- Say: Brown Bear, brown bear, what do you see? I see a red bird
looking at me. All the pupils with red birds hold up their pictures.
- Tell those pupils: If you are a red bird, stand up and turn your head.
- Continue this procedure with all the animals in the book:
If you are a yellow duck, stand up and bend your neck.
If you are a blue horse, clap your hands.
If you are a green frog, jump, jump, jump.
If you are a purple cat, shake your fingers.
If you are a white dog, kick your leg.
If you are a black sheep, stamp your feet.
If you are a goldfish, open your mouth.
- Say: Mother, Mother what do you see? I see children looking at me.
- Ask the pupils to stand up.
- Tell them: Clap your hands, turn your neck, bend your knees, touch
your head, sit down, etc.
