Go to Sleep (game #2)
- While pupils are "sleeping," tap a pupil on the shoulder and give him/her
a zoo animal card.
- The pupil looks at the flashcard and turns it face down on the desk.
- Say: Wake up everybody. Open your eyes.
- Pupils ask yes/no questions to guess what the animal is. Model the
questions: Are you big? Are you blue? Are you a monkey?
- The pupil responds: Yes, I am. No, I am not.
- Play the game a few times.
Song
Sing the "Zoo Song" (song #2.11) while acting out movements and making
appropriate sounds.

Tell pupils: Stand up and sing with me. Sing the song once together.
Ask: Who wants to be a giraffe? Count the raised hands with the class:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ..... pupils want to be giraffes. Do the same with the other
animals in the song.
Sing the song again with the class. The pupils will be the specific animals they
have chosen.
Sing the first verse and tell pupils: We are going to the zoo. I am happy.
After the last verse say: I am tired, I want to go to sleep. Dramatize and tell
pupils to copy you.
