Writing
- Draw the house on the board and write the letters Jj in the house.
- Explain and point out that the small j goes down to the basement.
- Ask pupils: What other letters go down to the basement? (p, g)
- Write the J in the air with your finger.
- Have pupils write the letter J with a finger, in the air and on their desks.
- Ask a group of pupils to form the letter J and walk around the classroom
together. While they are walking, the class chants, The letter is J, the
sound is /j/.
Activity Book
Tell pupils: Open the Activity Book to page 155.

3. Pupils show the letter and say its sound and a word that begins with that sound.
