Self Assessment/Teacher Assessment
- Tell pupils you are so proud of them and how well they are doing in
English. Now you want to find out how they feel about learning English.
- Put the three pictures of Max and the mountain (from the self/teacher
assessment page) on the board.
- Explain that learning a language takes time and everyone learns at a
different pace, but in the end we all learn.
- Tell pupils: You are going to assess how well you think you do the
different things we learned in this unit. What you think and feel
about your learning is very important. Explain that this is not a test.
- If you think you do something VERY WELL, mark V under Max on the
mountain top.
- If you think you do something OK, mark V under Max climbing the
mountain.
- If you think you are just starting to understand or be able to do
something, mark V under Max at the beginning of his walk up the
mountain.
- Say: Now we will read the sentences together, one by one. Mark your
answer after each sentence. Allow time for pupils to respond.
- Tell pupils to write their answers to the last two questions in L1 on the lines
indicated.
