READY Teacher's Guide - Book - Page 103
Set a timer for 5 minutes and allow each group to make a list of as many words as they can that fits
the category, without looking at their Course Books. Have pupils nominate a scribe to write the
words down. Remind pupils to be as quiet as possible so as to not be overheard by the other groups.
After the time is up, ask groups one at a time to share the words they wrote down. Write all the
words on the board for pupils to see. If any word is written by more than one group, it will not
receive points (for example, if more than one group writes “roof,” for the category House, no group
receives a point). Groups receive one point for each unique word on their list.
If you wish to play again to review more words, change the category and/ or shuffle the groups.

The Longest Sentence… (VA #17)
Have pupils work in small groups/pairs to write several sentences that use as many review words as
they can (logically). Give an example to demonstrate.
When they are finished, have groups/pairs share their sentences with the class. The group with the
sentences that use the most reviewed words wins.
