Extramural Activity

Have pupils plan a clothing Give Away Day for the school or for the neighborhood.

Have pupils make flyers and hang them up around the school or the neighborhood.

The pupils are responsible for organizing and facilitating the clothing give-away, from collecting boxes to
making sure everything runs smoothly to cleaning up afterwards.

If clothing is left at the end of the day, work with the pupils to find a place that accepts clothing
donations and arrange for the clothing to be picked up/dropped off.

Putting It All Together (Performance Task)

Have pupils follow the instructions to complete the performance-based task (PBT). Have pupils assess
their work by completing the performance task checklist on page 279 of the Workbook.

The pupils' work may then be displayed in an English corner in the classroom. Draw pupils' attention to
the board once it is complete and be sure to praise pupils for their work.

Use the Performance Task Rubric in Appendix IV b to assess the pupils' work.
