Ask pupils the following questions. Encourage responses in English and emphasize the target vocabulary
in the pupils' answers. Reassure pupils that there is not one correct answer.
1. Supermarkets sell many types of food. Tell me different foods that people can buy at a
supermarket. (Elicit any logical response. Encourage responses using vocabulary pupils know,
e.g., yogurt, cream, flour, ice cream, vegetables, etc.)
2. What do you think is better – a small supermarket or a big supermarket? Why?

sentences to themselves and what they would like to buy at the store. Have pupils repeat the dialogue
with their partner and then switch roles.
