Ask pupils the following questions. Encourage responses in English and emphasize the target vocabulary
in the pupils' answers. Reassure pupils that there is not one correct answer.
1. Do you like to cook?
2. What foods do you know how to make?
3. Who cooks dinner at your house?
Vocab Activity

Do the activity to review and practice the vocabulary (show the word cards): be careful, bowl, bread,
butter, count, cut, egg, empty, full, ingredient, knife, mix, pan, plate, pour, refrigerator, salt, salt, slice,
slowly, stove, sugar, table, thick, thin.
•
Word Association (VA #4)
Say one of the vocabulary words and have pupils quickly respond with another word that they
associate with it.
Accept any logical answer.
Play a few rounds to practice different words.

Course Book page 88, task 1

Ask pupils: What do you see? (Accept any logical answer). Remind pupils to use the recently reviewed
words as well as new words on the page to help them. Write correct answers on the board.
Note: Pupils should respond using full sentences. Less strong pupils can respond at a word level.

Read the questions with the pupils.

Have the pupils answer the questions.
Encourage less strong pupils to work with a partner.
