Have pupils point to and read each new word in their Course Books on page 120.
Explain that not very is followed by an adjective. Ask pupils for examples of adjectives and write
them on the board. Have each pupil say a sentence about themselves using not very + an adjective.
For example: I am not very hungry, I am not very tall, etc.
Vocab Activity

Do the activity to review the vocabulary (show the word cards): art, biscuit, brother, door, explain, hard,
hole, homework, lesson, model, not very…, remember to do something, roof, snack, throw, window.

Review the vocabulary using the word cards before doing the activity.
•
BINGO (VA #3)
Have pupils draw a 3x3 grid in their notebooks (creating 9 squares) and write any review words they
choose in the squares.
Play BINGO by saying a word and have pupils mark if they have that word in their BINGO grid. Record
the words you say on the board.
Continue saying words until a pupil gets three in a row (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) and
calls: BINGO! Check the winning words against the list on the board.

Before reading, ask pupils about the text type. Elicit that it is a comic and point out the features of the
text type (pictures, speech bubbles, etc.). Discuss how to read a comic (read each panel, left to right, and
top to bottom).
Ask pupils if they have seen or read other comics, in English or in L1.

Read the text together with the pupils.

After reading, ask the pupils what is Amir making? Why is he angry at Brad?
