Have pupils look at the text and make predictions about the type of information in the text based on the
pictures, text type (informational), and title.

Read the text together with the pupils.

After reading, ask the pupils if their predictions about the text were correct. Ask pupils about the caves
described in the text: What did the people in the Stone Age draw on the cave walls? Why do you think
they chose to draw those things? Which cave do you think is more interesting? Why?

Ask pupils to look in the text and find four verbs in past tense: 2 regular and 2 irregular.
