Read the museum signs together with the pupils. Read the speech bubbles together with the pupils.

Have pupils write their own answer to the question “How do you use trains, cars, phones, and
electricity?” in their notebooks.
Allow less strong pupils to say their answer instead of writing it.

For each picture, have pupils say a sentence that uses one or both of the words below it. Accept any
sentence that uses at least one of the words.

For pupils who struggle, guide them with sentence starters.

can have a friend who lived during the Industrial Revolution. Elicit that Tom is pretending to be from the
time of the Industrial Revolution.
