Listening Script Unit 4 Page 175 #4
Mr. Smith: Did you read about how astronauts landed on the moon almost 60 years ago?
Students: Yes!
Mr. Smith: Great. Astronauts are still going into space. When they’re in space, they can talk
to their families. Here is a real conversation between an astronaut in space and his
daughter.
Girl: Hi Dad!
Dad: Hi! It’s great to see you! What did you do today?
Girl: I went to school today. I told my friends that my dad is in space! They were surprised.
Did you see the Earth?
Dad: Yes, I did. It’s round and full of colors. From space, it’s almost like a little ball.
Girl: Did you play sports with the other astronauts?
Dad: I didn’t play sports, but I did exercise. It’s important to exercise when you’re in space.
Girl: How did you sleep last night?
Dad: My bed wasn’t very comfortable. But I was so tired, I slept for eight hours.
Girl: I think you’re still tired. Dad, go to sleep. We can talk again tomorrow! Goodnight!
Dad: Goodnight.
