Putting It All Together (Performance Task)

Have pupils follow the instructions to complete the performance-based task (PBT). Have pupils assess
their work by completing the performance task checklist on page 278 of the Workbook.

The pupils' work may then be displayed in an English corner in the classroom. Draw pupils' attention to
the board once it is complete and be sure to praise pupils for their work.
Use the Performance Task Rubric in Appendix IV b to assess the pupils' work.
Self-Assessment

Have pupils complete the unit self-assessment for self-evaluation in the Workbook on page 241.

Reflection

Show the images on the Unit 4 cover page (page 149). Elicit what pupils remember from the unit,
including themes, vocabulary, texts, stories, etc. Ask pupils:

What did you learn in this unit? What did you like best in this unit?
•
Do you think it is important to study history? Why or why not?
Class Discussion
•
Ask pupils the following questions. Encourage responses in English and emphasize the target vocabulary
in the pupils' answers. Reassure pupils that there is not one correct answer.
1. What did people invent or discover in the past that we use today?
2. What types of things do you think people will invent in the future?
