Listening Script Unit 5 Page 197 #2
Grant: Hi Amir, It’s good to see you again.
Amir: I am happy you returned to Hillside.
Grant: I am too! I am also excited to join you all at the end-of-the-year party.
Amir: Our friends don’t know that you are here yet. I want it to be a surprise. I had an interesting
thought… Maybe YOU can be a surprise guest at the party!
Grant: OK! What will I have to do?
Amir: You will arrive at the party early to join the waiters. You will also wear the same type of hat
and suit that the waiters wear. At first, you will bring us our food. Everyone will see you, but no
one will know it’s you. You will not tell anyone your name. Then, we will play Guess the Guest. I
will say, “Think about Grade 3.” Then, I will ask questions like, “Who was the best football player?
And “Who made us laugh during lunchtime?” I will ask questions until someone guesses “Grant.”
When we hear your name, you will throw your hat to me and show your face. Everyone will be
surprised and happy to see you! Then, you will join the party and celebrate with us. I am sure you
will enjoy yourself.
Grant: OK. Maybe I will not be the best waiter, but I will be an excellent guest!
