Vocab Activity

Do the activity to review the vocabulary (show the word cards): act, art, artist, band, dance, draw,
famous, guitar, hear, lesson, movie, museum, music, paint, plan, play, practice, understand

Guess What (VA #14)
Choose a word from the reviewed words (for example, "music"). Don't tell the pupil the word you
chose. Give a clue about the word using vocabulary the pupils know, e.g., This is something that you
listen to.
Have pupils identify the correct word. For each incorrect guess, add another clue, e.g., Singers and
bands make this. (Elicit: Music)

Play a few rounds to practice different words. The teacher may choose a volunteer to lead.
•
Review parts of speech: Ask pupils if they remember nouns, verbs and adjectives. (Elicit: nouns (people,
places, or things) and verbs (action words), and adjectives (describing words) with the pupils. Use L1 if
needed.
