Review
•
Review the vocabulary using the word cards: above, behind, below, between, in, near, next to, on,
on top of, under.
Ask pupils what these words have in common. Determine that they are all words that are used to
describe where something is (prepositions) (use L1 if needed).
Remind pupils that in order to use a preposition in a phrase or sentence, we use a preposition and a
place (noun phrase). Give the example phrases and have pupils identify the preposition in each
phrase: in the music store, near the artist, between the cinema and the theater.
Have pupils use prepositions to describe things in the classroom, for example: The window is near
the door.
•
Review the vocabulary using the word cards: what, when, where, which, who, why.
Ask pupils what these words have in common. Elicit that these are words we use in English to ask
questions, and that they all begin with WH.
Review lexical chunks that use the question words. Ask different pupils: What is your address? When
is your birthday? Where do you live? Who is your favorite singer? Which season is your favorite?
Why?
Ask pupils: Do you have question words in your language? (Elicit any logical answer.)
